A motorcyclist was killed in a car accident at the intersection of South Buckley Road and East Mexico Avenue on Tuesday night, Aurora police said.
Police responded to the crash around 11 p.m. to find the motorcyclist lying in the roadway. The man was pronounced dead on the scene by Aurora Fire Rescue.
Authorities believe the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on South Buckley Road and turning left onto East Mexico Avenue when he was struck by a Cadillac Escalade driving southbound on South Buckley Road. The car’s driver remained on the scene and was cooperative, a release from the Aurora Police Department said.
The Aurora Police Traffic Section is investigating. It is unknown if speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash. No arrests have been made, police said.
The intersection was closed overnight for several hours during the investigation.
